Roger Wright's off to Aldeburgh

Roger Wright, currently controller of BBC Radio 3 and director of the BBC Proms, is going to become Chief Executive of Aldeburgh Music. Few can have envied Wright's task of steering BBC Radio 3 through the ongoing cuts and adjustments to the way the Corporation is run. While a smaller, more manageable affair by far, Aldeburgh is still no walk in the park, given the demands of the Britten-Pears Foundation, galvanised after its successes during the composer's centenary, and the intensely loyal but headstrong Aldeburgh audience. But then, having run the Proms for the past seven years, Wright's better primed than anyone to manage a terrifically loyal but strong-willed following.
