The Gewandhausorchester has gone all Brahmsian this Autumn. As well as the release of its new recording on Decca of the Symphonies and various orchestral works, the orchestra and Riccardo Chailly will be performing the Symphonies, the Double Concerto, Violin Concerto and the two Piano Concertos at home in Leipzig and on tour in London, Paris and Vienna. There are still some tickets available for the cycle at the Barbican, but for those you unable to catch the Gewandhausorchester live, you can tune in via this page on Entartete Musik or via the orchestra's own page on 19 October and watch a live stream performance of Riccardo Chailly conducting Brahms's Fourth Symphony and the Violin Concerto with Leonidas Kavakos (a work these forces have also recently recorded together).
