Ballet
Future Prince
Asked which roles he'd most like to perform, Reece Clarke, The Royal Ballet's newest recruit, and winner of the 2012 Young British Dancer of the Year, said, 'any of the Princes'. Fresh out of the Royal Ballet School, he's probably a little way off tackling such roles, but at over 6 foot and with a truly impressive leap – demonstrated in rehearsals for the Mouse King in The Nutcracker – Clarke will doubtless make a huge impression when he's finally able to take on the crowned heads of the repertoire. Sitting in the wings, as he rehearsed the Christmas classic alongside other more seasoned members of the company, I couldn't help but marvel at the great sense of hope that is triggered when such a palpable talent joins the ranks. Definitely one to watch.
